SKOKIE. 111.. June 10 ll'i If
the owner of a single lot In this
Chicago suburb wants to build
a huuae the dimensions, under
tiie law, must be something like
a bowling alley.
Many lots in Skokie are 30
feet wide. However, the village's
building ordinance specifies that
no houso may be built wnicn
does not have at least 1000
aauare feet of floor apace, and
also requires that house be four
feet distant, on either side, from
oroncrty lines.
Thus, on a 30-foot lot, a house
can't be more than 22 feet wide
and must bo slightly more than
43 feet deep.
