The willful freezing of all industry by cutting off the na
tion's coal supply is clearly SABOTAGE for it obviously sa
botages America's reconversion program while disrupting
the country's economy, encouraging inflation and fast
spreading "Black Market" operations. Never before have
SO MANY SUFFERED SO MUCH BECAUSE OF THE
ACTIONS OF SO FEW.
Now right NOW is high time to PROTEST VIGOROUS
LY. The extent of current strikes is becoming unbearable.
Selfish individuals, seeking to promote or retain economic
and political power have, without regard to the interests of
the nation, tied up the production of essential goods. In'
grasping for gains for an organized few they have caused
inconvenience and actual suffering to millions through
out the country.
Right now strikes are keeping much needed farm machin
ery out of the hands of those who must grow foods for the
entire world. This and transportation tie-ups will definitely
hamper America's accepted task of famine relief. That is
carrying selfish ambition and personal greed too far!
Do you think that John L. Lewis cares about YOU, your
family, your business or the prosperity of your own com
munity? You know he doesn't!
We well recognize that organized labor has its rightful
place in the American way of life for the mutual benefit of
both the worker and the employer, but nevertheless, YOUR
SECURITY the SECURITY OF THE NATION must
not be destroyed by a comparative few.
Don't forget that the reason you cannot get a new car, your
wife cannot buy nylons and you cannot enjoy many other
good things of life is because of the actions of a selfish
few.
Here is an opportunity to express your opinion to YOUR
Congressmen the men who YOU have placed in Wash
ington to represent YOU. We urge you to read the letter
shown on this page. If you agree that SABOTAGE MUST
END and SECURITY BEGIN, sign it and mail it today

May, 1946.
Honorable Slrsr
As a citizen and voter of Klamath County, Oregon, I wish to
express my opinion on the present crisis confronting every person
In the United States.
I URGE and DEMAND that immediato legislative steps be taken
to control any coercive force which threatens or may threaten public
welfare and health or national reconversion by willfully obstructing
or restricting full scale production of vital and essential products.
Since V-J Doy, nine months ago, innumerable and unnecessary
strikes brought about by political aspirations have threatened our
national security. Shall a handful of greody men striving for power
and political prominence cause millions of Innocent familios to suffer?
The steel, the automobile, the cloctrical, the lumber and now the
- coal industries have been struck, preventing vitally needed goods
from reaching tha consumers. Who Is directing the welfare of this
nation the people or few labor union heads?
We have tolerated Hitlerian labor policios TOO long! It Is time that
the men who represent us in Congress pass strict legislation to pre
vent uncontrolled eloments from impairing or destroying the future
of a great country and a great peoplol
We want action. Let's deliver not delay!
I have voluntarily clipped this message from the Klamath Falls
Herald and News and am mailing it to you in the hope that you will
give it careful consideration.
Very Jruly yours,
