niors or graduates of high school,
or college students. Doys in the
armed services are eligible.
Kxceptlons to this age require

has had one year of acceptable
service In any one of the armed
forces. In such cases he can be
admitted to thn academy If he
has not passed his 23rd birthday
on the first of April of the calen
dar year in which he would enter
the naval academy. Such admis
sion Is, of course, contingent
upon his meeting the mental and
physical requirements.
The civil service commission
expects to hold a competitive ex
amlnatlon on July 24, 1949. to
aid in the selection of nomlna
tlona for the academy. Appll
canta must ba resident of the
lecond congressional district of
Oregon, and able to meet the
exacting physical standards of
the academy.
