Chiloquin
The find affair of graduation
was a commencement dance
to be held Saturday night, May
18, In the Chiloquin school
gymnasium. Music was furnished
by the Merry Makers from Klam
ath Falls.
Mrs. Joe H. Stewart was hon
ored at a pink and blue shower
given at the high school last
Monday afternoon. Hosts and
hostesses were faculty members
and custodians of Chiloquin high
and elementary schools.
Stewart has been principal of
the Chiloquin schools for the
past two years, but has resigned
to accept the principalship of the
Coburg, Ore., schools. He will
resume work at the University
of Oregon this sumnwr to finish
requirements for his M.A.

and Mrs. Harvey Zellcr, Mr. and
Mrs. Marsh Ferguson, Mr. and
Mrs. C. Juris, Mcsdamcs Charles

right. Wednesday was picnic day for
senior and junior high schools of
Chiloquin. Pupils of the six
upper years, accompanied by
Ann Rife, Hilda Olsen, Richard
Wilson, and Reno Barnes of the
faculty, and Principal Joe H.
Stewart, rode two school buses
to the gravel pit swimming hole
near Fort Klamath and made a
day of it.
Tuesday, pupils of the fourth,
fifth and sixth grades, accom
panied by Mrs. Burton and Mrs.
Warren, picnicked at Pine Ridge.
Piano pupils of Mrs. Darlene
Wolff were heard in recital Wed
nesday evening in the Chiloquin
elementary school hall. Assist
ing artists were Paula Albert,
Mary Monks and Gene Page.

Mrs. Walter Robison, former
Merrill resident now living near
Macdoel, was honored on
Mother's Day which is also her
birthday with a family reunion.
There for the day, which included
a big picnic lunch at noon, were

Robison) San Francisco, Mr. and
Mrs. Hilary Winebarger and
family, Merrill, Mrs. DeLos Mills,
Klamath Falls, Mr. and Mrs.
Carroll Robison and two chil

Mrs. S. T. Robison, also of Mt.
Hebron.
Sgt. Gordon Wynant, who
served 10 months overseas with
General MacArthur's headquar
ters, Korean branch, has been
discharged and is at home with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. How
ard Wynant. He was en route
from Tokyo 12 days and had a
fine voyage, he reports. He
docked at Seattle and was dis
charged at Ft. Lewis.

A daughter. Berdina, of Sacra

ciated with the Klamath Falls
Herald and News as a photog
rapher. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. King and
family are moving this weekend
to a home purchased recently at
Hager. The property was for
merly owned by Mr. and Mrs.
William Nichols. The Kings have
been residents of the Merrill
community for more than 11
years and during that time have
resided on the former D. E. Alex
ander ranch, bought a year ago
by West and Lyon.
Keno
Mrs. Tom Calmcs of Keno was
among the Klamath county
mothers who were entertained
over the weekend at Oregon
State college. This is an annual
affair, the entertaining of the
students' mothers for Mother's
Day. Monniette Calmes is a stu
dent at Corvallis. Mrs. Calmes
left on a Friday morning and
arrived home on Sunday eve
ning. Students at Keno had their
last classes on Wednesday, the
15th. On Thursday, the picnics
for the various rooms were held
and on Friday teachers finished
up records and reports, which
will bring the school officially
to a close for the term.
Mr. and Mrs. Lane A. Smith
Jr., and Fred Barnes left on
Tuesday for a fishing trip to
Gold Beach, Ore. Mr. and Mrs.
L. A. Smith Sr., and Mrs. Don
Huck returned from the coast on
Monday. They reported having
a grand two weeks' trip.
On Friday evening, May 10, a
group of people from the First
Baptist church of Klamath Falls
held a potluck supper in Keno
