Party Honors
Mrs. Kafer
Mrs. Fred' Kafer Jr., national Girl Scout field advisor, was
honor guest at a party Thursday evening, May 2, in the Episcopal
rhurch parish. .,."., .
Atterdlng the affair were leaders, assistant leaders, troop
committee members, council members, and adults interested in
Scouting. , , ,. ,
Mrs. Kafer spoke to the group on the association plan. She
returned to her home In Medford Saturday following a two-day
visit here. She came to Klamath Falls from her headquarters in
Colli

May Day Tea
Members of Brownie troop 28
of Altamont elementary school
honored their mothers and teach
ers with a pink tea on Wednes
day. May 1.
Decorations followed a May
Day theme. Assisting the girls
were their leaders, Mrs. Ger,
trude Pruitt, Mrs. Paul Horne,
and Mrs. Francis Davis.
On the program were Sheryl
Metier and Joan Thorn, piano
solos, Jewell Rodgers and Shirley
Roberts, violin duet, and Nancy
Pruitt, who danced, accompanied
by Mrs. B. V. Yadon. Sharon
Davis presented an acrobatic
routine.
Hand painted plaques made by
the girls were given to the
mothers present
Troop committee members who
assisted in serving were Mrs.
Stanley Elsemore and Mrs. Wil
ford Shulmire,
Twenty-one members of the
troop will fly up in a special
ceremony and receive their wings
on Friday, May 10.
Ceremony
In a ceremony read Sunday,
May 5, in the First Methodist
church of Klamath Falls, Cora
Mae Jenkins, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. A. Coke of Bly,
became the bride of Norman
Conner of Shoshone, Idaho.
The Rev. Victor Phillips read
the ceremony. Attending the
bride and groom were Mr. and
Mrs. Cecil Nickleson.
The bride wore a white suit,
with white accessories, and a
shoulder corsage of carnations
and gardenias.
Present for the ceremony In
addition to the wedding party
were Mr. and Mrs. John Toner
of Wieser, Idaho; Ernest Coke,
Wanda Brewer, Wadene Jenk
ins and L. Seymour.
A dinner was held at Lucca's
cafe in honor of the couple.
Following a wedding trip in
Idaho, they will make their
home in Los Angeles.
Recital
Mrs. Hugh T. Mitchelmore
will present her piano pupils in
recital Friday evening. May 17,
at Altamont Junior high school.
A program of solos and duo
piano numbers will be given,
with violin numbers played by
a pupil of Harry Borel. The pro
' gram will be announced later.

party in the Community Con-
gregational hall, Friday evening,
May 3.
Decorations were on a funny
paper theme.
Cards were played following
dinner. High score went to Mrs.
David Snyder for the women,
and to Clifford Voight for the
men. Ray Garrison held low.
