county school district yesterday
defeated a 1048-47 budget to
exceed tho six per cent limita
tion by nearly two to one and
a proposed $111)0,000 bond issue
for new school construction by
nearly three to one.
Only four school sub-districts
carried tho budget, while two of
theso defeated the bond pro.
posul. Three of the 18 sub-districts
In the county district fav
ored the bond Issue, one of
which was Murphy where a new
school would be built with the
bonds, but this district defeated
the budget.
