How to make your
Easter table attractive
Whether your Easter celebration include
only the immediate family or whether you
mako the day one for entertaining, the occa
sion call for table decorations. Here"! an
. idea that may be used for almost any Eastor
party and for every age group, too.
The first thing to do when planning your
decorations is to decide on tho color scheme.
Your tablecloth or place mota may be the
koy to tho colors you'll use.' Place mat! lim
nlify the laundry problem, but you may pre
fer an all-white or pastel cloth. If white is
your choico then any color scheme may be
carried out in the decoration!.
f ASTER BONNET CINTIRPIICI
The main attraction of our centerpiece is
hatbox. It may bo either round or square,
small or large, and it doesn't have to be a
fancy one. Ours is covered with gay striped
gift paper, but the same effect is obtained by
covering the hatbox in plain pastel colored
paper and pasting on contrasting atripes.
(Vegetable glue makes a neater job of this,
for it doesn't come through the paper.) Plain
or figured shelf paper, wallpaper or crepe
paper may also be used. Use real ribbon of
harmonizing or contrasting color or crepe
paper to tie up the box and form the bow.
Line the box with pastel-colored tissue paper,
tilt the lid ad let sprays of spring blossoms
or flowers, pussy willows or green leaves hang
out over tho side.
Place one or two toy bunniee (or you could use
a pottery bunny, chicken or duck, or a cov
ered hen dish) by the hatbox. Arrange flowers
or decorated Easter eggs and leavea around
the hatbox to complete the centerpiece.
The same idea may be carried out in the
favors. Cover small boxes similarly, but place
the lid on the box. Then when the box is
opened, there could be a "surprise" opening
course, dessert, or favor! such as candy
Easier eggs or small gifts.
