Keneston-Ross Glove Bout
Talked For Next Thursday
Look for a main event bout
between Jumping Joe Lynam,
Redmond, Ore., athlete and
war vet, and Murderous Mar
lino Angelo to top the rassle
card here Thursday night.
Lynam is definitely slated to
be here if a match for him is
arranged and he sent in word
last Thursdoy that he would
like very much to meet An
gelo. The brawny Italian Is the
gent who lifted Joe's coast jun
ior heavy crown, after Lynam
had been the champ for less
than two months. He had won
the diadem from Jack Lips
comb. Angelo can probably be fig
ured to guzzle any grappler
current on the circuit, if the
referee will let the fight go
long enough, but he winds up
most of his bouts by being dis
qualified. A return fight between Bob
Keneston and Tony Ross would
be a natural, in view of the
bloody beating both took day
before yesterday, but another
mat battle between the pair is
an unlikely proposition right
away.
However, Promoter Mack Lil
lard is toying with this idea
a regulation boxing bout, the
boys wearing gloves and mix
ing it according to Marquis of
yueensberry rules. Both Ken
eston and Ross are ex-boxers,
and Tony still does a bit of the
fistic work.
Keneston has tentatively
agreed to a boxing match but
wants it cut short. He figures
to go in slugging from the bell
and finish as soon as possible.
Tony hasn't been contacted yet.
