artists in the denomination, and
the speakers accepted leaders in
1 their field in the church.
i The program "Showers of
Blessing" is now being conduct
ed in the second year since it
was launched by action of the
general assembly of the church
held in Minneapolis in June of
1942.
Broadcast I- ct
The morning orship at
Klamath Lutheran c.urch, Cross
and Crescent streets, will be
broadcast directly from the
church over station KFLW at 11
a. m The Rev. S. M. Topness,
pastor of the church, will speak
on the subject, "The Course of
True Faith." The senior choir,
under the direction of Mr. O. K.
Warcup, will sing, "The King of
Love My Shepherd Is," by Shel
ley. Mrs. A. H. Denison, church
organist, will be at the organ
console. There will be a nursery
for little children in the church
parlors during the worship hour.
The Sunday school meets at
9:45 a. m. with classes for all
ages. The Luther league meets
at 7:30 p. m. with the "Whites"
team, Donna Wilkes and Judy
Larson, co-captains, in charge of
the program. Topic: "Lent, In
.grid Norland; Devotions, Goldie
Olson. -
Mid-week Lenten service on
Wednesday at 7:30 p. m. Sermon
subject: "Into Thy Hands." This
will be the last sermon in the
series on the general theme, Mln
the Cross of Christ I Glory."
Brotherhood meeting Thurs
day, 7:45 p. m. The Luther
league will provide the program,
featured by a play: "One Re
solve." The members of the
Luther league will be guests of
the brotherhood. There will be
games and refreshments. The
. men and young people of the
church are invited to attend.
Search Fruitless

searched-the beach near here in
vain for the body of a Eugene

40th Anniversary Of Apostolic Faith
Will Be Commemorated By Church Here
The Rev. David McCollum,
pastor, announces that the Apos
tolic Faith, 228 N. 8th, will ob'
serve the 40th anniversary of
the founding of the church in
Portland. Beginning Sunday,
April 7, special meetings will be
held the entire week, devoted to
evangelistic efforts.
The Klamath Falls church is
one of 17 Apostolic Faith con
gregations, with headquarters in
Portland, Ore. The Rev. R. R.
Crawford is general overseer,
having succeeded his mother,
Mrs. Florence L. Crawford,
founder of the Apostolic Faith,
who died in 1936.
Branch Started
In 1917 a band of workers
crossed the Cascades from Med-
ford and a new branch work was
started in Klamath Falls. For
21 yeas, rented halls housed the
services. In 1938 the present
church site was purchased. A
one-story house was raised and
made into a two-story building.
Veneered in local stone, built by
volunteer church labor, a plain
building was changed into a
chapel.
Last year the adjoining prop
erty was purchased for a parson
age. Considerable work has
been done on it, and it is almost
ready for occupation. The pres
ent parsonage over the church
will be used to house the rapidly
growing Sunday school primary
classes.
Starting with a station wagon
to bring children to Sunday
school, it now takes in addition
two local buses and several pri
vate cars. From one end of
town to the other, these cars
range far and wide gathering in
the youngsters for Sunday
school. It is heart warming just
to see these youngsters trouping
from these buses and cars into
the church building. There are
classes for every age from pri
mary to the adult Bible class.
Father Settler
About three years ago, the
Rev. Cecil Lambert left this
pastorate to assume duties in the
San Francisco church. He was
succeeded by the Rev. David
McCollum, who did not come as
a stranger to Klamath Falls His
father was an early settler in the
basin. Twenty years ago, tne
Rev. McCollum was converted
in an Apostolic Faith church on
4th street back of the Hall hotel.
He understands the Klamath
DeoDle and their needs Mrs,
McCollum assists her husband in
the work. She too has a local
background of years standing,
making them a couple suited by
sympathy and environment.

7:45 p. m. Sunday. No services
will be held on Monday and Sat

Man Not Yet Known
SEATTLE, April 5 (IP) Iden
tity of an elderly man who
leaped or fell from a south end
bridge onto the street below has
not yet been established, Cor
oner John P. Brill said last
night.
The name "C. W. Duncanson,
Portland, Ore.," was on a bill
fold found on the body, the cor
oner's report said. The federal
bureau of investigation is at
tempting identification through
fingerprints.
