Seattle regional office of the war
assets corporation announced
yesterday the $500,000 chrome
reduction plant 13 miles south
east of Marshfleld, Oregon, is
being offered for sale.
Now declared surplus, the

office of tho U. S. bureau of
reclamation, was presented with
an honorary Ufa membership In
the Klamath County chamber of
commerce at the board of direc
tors meeting Wednesday.
Hayden has left for San Fran
cisco to take up new work for
the bureau as consulting econo
mist. The presentation was made
In honor of his splendid service
to tno Klamath basin,
Progress of the membership
campaign now underway for the
chamber was reported on at the
meeting, showing that 23 per
cent of the goal of 75 new mem
bers has been reached In 29 per
cent of tho time allotted for the
drive which ends April 3.
Appointed
Seven men were appointed on
the election committee to super
vise the April election of cham
ber directors to serve for the
next two years. They will han
dle all business of the election
and count the ballots. Named on
the committee were Fred South
well, Bob Sproat, George Mcln
tyre, Nick' Long, Al Hatton,
Steve Rose and E. B. Hall.
Plans for the annual meeting
were approved with nn outstand
ing speaker still to be selected
and an auditorium meeting rath
er than a dinner as was held last
year. There will be a brief-report
on chamber affairs at this
meeting. '

that Charles R. Stark, chamber
manager, be authorized as busi
ness manager for the centennial
pageant to be held this year, was
generally approved, to allow
