Suffers Stroke
Byrum Luce. 73. retired
Klumalh Falls businessman, was

pital Thursday following a
stroke which left his left a
und right leg paralyzed.
Luce, who has been living
alone ut 535 Jefferson since tho
J. B. Reeds left for Pasadena
over a month ago, chopped
some wood for his heating stove
Wednesday altcrnoon. When he
got up Thursday morning ho
found he hod difficulty walk
ing and could not move his arm.
Ho struggled to tho door and
with a cane knocked on tho
wall of the houso until ho at
tracted his neighbor's attention.
i hey called tho doctor and
notified friends of Luce who
took him to tho hospital, He is
oblo to receive friends.

Only a few short stacks ot
paper lay on the shelves at one
olace Friday, only a limited
quantity of film was loft from
tho lost quotu shipment received
and cameras and flash bulbs
were nil. Tho only material in
plentiful quantities hero was de
veloping and finishing chemicals.
One portrait studio reported
"onough" of everything on hand
for Its own use with a very short
margin but admitted it took
si-mo scrounging to keep from
running out of muterlal between
regular shipments.
Tho manager of one photo
shop slated it as his guess that
it would only bo a short time
before everyone had as much as
ho needed of everything includ
ing bulbs, stating that "tho
warehouses are full of supplies
and they will bo released soon."
