road. Miss O'Connor wrote on
the theme of an open letter to
a prospective citizen, and Wil
liams followed "the theme of a
citizen's responsibilities and
privileges.
It was decided that the group
would sponsor a buffet supper
and dance on Tuesday, March
19, anniversary of the founding
of Legion post No. 8.
Dave Hoss, production man
ager of KFJI, and recently dis
charged from the U. S. coast
guard, spoke to the group on
"National Defense," and urged
that the members support legis
lation and programs designed
to keep America's strength in
first class order so that aggres
sor nations never again will be
tempted to declare war. Hoss
also described some of his ex
periences in Japan and the re
action of the Jap people to our
occupation forces.
THE ENGAGEMENT of their
daughter Marie was an
nounced this week by Mr. and
Mrs. A. i Dorlaque. She will
become the bride of PFC Ray
J.- Dryer of Denver, Colo.,
sometime in October. Ray is
now stationed at the Marine
Barracks.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Wil
liam Swartz, 4132 Altamont
drive, was the setting for a
simple wedding ceremony which
united Anna Mae Swartz and
Leo Albertson on Sunday, Feb
ruary 17.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Elizabeth Swartz of Red
rock, Okla., and William Swartz
of Klamath Falls. Leo Albert
son is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
H. F. Albertson, prominent
ranchers of Lakeview.
The bride wore a white jersey
wedding dressand a short veil
held by red rosebuds and bou
vardia, her bouquet was also of
rosebuds and bouvardia.
Mrs. H. F. Albertson, mother
of the groom, was matron of
honor and William Swartz, fath
er of the bride, was best man.
Following the ceremony at
which the Rev. Norris Hughes of
the Free Methodist church offici
ated, the bride and groom cut
the cake. They left for a short
honeymoon trip to Medford,
Grants Pass and points north. On
their return they will make their
home in Lakeview.
The groom ' recently returned
from the South Pacific where he
was stationed 18 months in the
navy. He received his discharge
December 8, 1945.
