MERRILL In an Informal,
candlelight service at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Wu, north
of Merrill, their son James Gay
Wu took as his bride, Beatrice
Kam Ngan Lum In an 6 o'clock
double ring ceremony, "Tuesday
evening. The service was read
by Rev. David J. Ferguson, pas
tor of the Merrill Presbyterian
church, In the presence of rela
tives of the groom and a number
of intimate friends. The young
couplo stood before two large
baskets of cullu lilies and white
carnations complimented by the
lighted tapers in candelabra.
The bride arrived a week ago
from her home in Honolulu, T.H.
und Mr. Wu has just been dis
charged from the merchant ma
rine. For her wedding Miss Lum
chose a dressmaker suit of aqua
and her flowers were gardenias
and carnations.
Her bridesmaid, June Wu, sis
ter of the groom wore a darker
shade of green and she carried
gardenias and carnations.
Georgo Chin, Merrill, was best
man.
Tho young couplo received
Immediately following the cere
mony, cutting their lovely white

Strectman have announced the
engagement of their daughter,
Maudcll, to French E. Johnson
Jr., Tulelake. He is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Jtrcnch Johnson
who are spending the winter in
LaMcsa, Calif.
The bride-elect, a graduate of
Shasta high school in Redding, is
employed in the Bank of Amer
ica at Tulelake. Mr. Johnson re
ceived his discharge from the
army air corps after flying for
several months in the European
theater of war.
The wedding will be an event
of early summer.

Lutheran church in Klamath
Falls.
The double ring ceremony
was read by the Rev. V. A.
Schulze.
The bride, given in marriage
by her brother, Mclvin Molde,
wore a floor-length gown of
white rayon taffeta and a fin
gertip veil. Her bouquet was of
white carnations. Her jewelry
was a gold locket, a gift of the
groom.
Mrs. Chris Molde of Tulelake
was the matron of honor. She
wore a pink rayon taffeta
gown, and carried a bouquet of
pink carnations.
Best man was Chris Molde,
brother of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the
wedding party attended a din
ner in the Winema hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Moldrem are at
home in Tulelake.
Tom and Jerry, twin sons of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snyder,
who left here some time ago to
make their home in St. Helens,
Oregon, will report for duty in
the V-S program of the U. S.
navy, friends here have learned.
Both boys were prominent in
athletics at St. Helens.

chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, were
entertained at the home of Mrs.
George D. Wardell, 1745 Menlo
way, Thursday, February 14. .
Games were in charge of
Lois Rumor, with -tho award
going to Mrs. Jules Napier. A
box of candy was presented to
the chapter, announcing the
forthcoming marriage of Doris
Yantis.
Refreshments were served
from a table decorated in a
Valentine motif. Lois Rumer
served, and Mrs. Warren Poole
poured. :

Degree Of Honor
The Degree of Honor, Klam
ath Falls 108, initiated a class
of candidates Monday, Febru
ary 11, in the regular hall. All
officers, ushers and the escort
staff were in formal dress.
After presenting the colors and
the officers march, the first
class of the year, a class of
four, was initiated.
After the initiation Cressa
Grubb, junior past state presi
dent, gave the flower charge.
A letter was read from the na
tional president, Frances Buell
Olson, congratulating the asso
ciation on its year book as the
most outstanding book she had
received from anywhere in the
United States.
There was a good attendance
both of officers and members.
Those initiated were Anne
Pierce, Barbara and Evelyn
Gordon and Margaret Grubb,
daughter of the junior past state
president, Cressa Grubb.
After - the meeting games, a
Valentine ?box, refreshments,
and a delightful social evening
were enjoyed in the banquet
room. The hostesses were

Mrs. Haydn O. Duke of San
Antonio, Texas, is spending an
indefinite time in Klamath
Falls, guest of her sister, Mrs.
A. J. Lyle of 72 Pine. Mrs. Lyle
spent a few months recently in
San Francisco and Mrs. Duke
joined her there.
