Blood Disease Dies
SPOKANE, Feb. 7 UP) Blood
transfusions last night failed to
keep life in the body of a 36-hour-old
baby born to Mrs. Earl
Carow. The Infant was afflict
ed with a rare blood disease in
which red corpuscles were de
stroyed faster than they could
be created.
Four other Carow children
have died shortly after birth of
the same ailment, but doctors
had held hopes of being able to
save tho latest progeny.

In the spirit- of their "qood turn daily" and their '946 slogan, "Scout of the World, Building Together,"
Boy Scouti and Cub of Klamath county will join with Scouts and Cub throughout the Modoc Area Council,
and the entire nation in a practical application of Scouting ideal during February, their 36th anniversary
month.
As a highlight of their celebration, every Scout and Cub will share something with a brother Scout or
Cub somewhere in the world as troops and packs make up boxes of uniform parts and Scout equipment te -send
to Manila, Athens, Brest, Warsaw, and scores of other devastated areas.
Attics and basements will be ransacked in homes where Scout and Cub have outgrown usable uni
forms and equipment left behind when they graduated from Scouting.
HOW ABOUT YOURS?
Not only will the uniforms obtained, serve a warm and critically needed clothing, but the kindly ges
ture of American Scouts and Cubs will long be remembered by their brothers abroad. Please ransack your
attic and basement, talk to your neighbors, discuss it in church and school, search out the outgrown uni
forms and give them to a Boy Scout or take them to the Boy Scout headquarters, U. S. National Bank build
ing.
All articles must be Scout equipment. Clothing must be cleaned
and all badges and insignias except buttons removed. Equipment
should be in good,' usable condition.
