nineteen billion dollars in engi
neering construction for the 11
western states, which means
more work than ever before for
the far west's construction Indus
try. Pycritz commented that the
heavy work so far planned
would keep the industry work
ing at a rate never approached
in peacetime, and near the war
time record rate. Manpower
problems arc likewise diminish
ing, he said.

lion dollars worth of street and
road work, and 211 million In

cials of the Hanford Engineering
Works, flooded with requests
from individuals for pre-fabrl-catcd
houses no longer needed
at the project, today issued a
statement explaining these
houses are not available to the
public.
The statement said that "the
army wishes it to be known that
there are no houses at the Han
ford Engineering Works' project
available for sale to individuals
or to private groups, and that is
unlikely that any will be for sale
in the near future.
