day, The core of this way is the
disciplined life, only possible
through the prolestant concep
tion of the ro-blrlh of Christ In

"Liberty is available to all.
through the gospel and It Is tho
tremendous task of the church
to show this picture to every
one. "The churches are so often In
volved In the good of the com
munity, public works and build
ings, that they overlook the
f renter world-wide plans," Dr.
.arnpe pointed out. "America
lost a golden opportunity for
Christianizing Japan in the
yenrs 1800-181)5, when Japan
was crying out for missionaries
and has pnld dearly and enor
mously since. Such an oppor
tunity is before us now and if
wo fall In our obligation now re
sponsibility for future crimes of
the world will be ours."

At the annual bunlnesn meet
ing of the Klumalh Lutheran
church held Monday, January
14, at 8 p. m., a revised constitu
tion wuh adopted. In his annual
ruport to the congregation, the
puntor told of 113 occesaion in
membership during the year,
llaptismii numbered 38, confir
mation 27 and the pastor officiat
ed at six weddings and nine fu
nerals. Mrs. Arthur Oberg reported
for the Ladies Aid, Mrs. Sverre
Munson for the Sunday school,
Judy Larson for the Luther
league and Ed Isensee for the
brotherhood.
The financial statements re
vealed that total receipts for the
year amounted to $10,738.63;
$.1503 wns expended locally and
$737.35 given to benevolences.
The cash balance on hand in
the congregational treasuries
amounted to $4497.15, including
$2034.90 In the building fund.
The two lots adjacent to the
church on Crescent have been
purchased and plans are in the
offing for the erection of a par
ish house and a parsonage.
