PORTLAND, Nov. 29 IIP)
Tho Orunl Generals woro doped
horo today as 12-polnt favorites
to crush tho Hood River Dragons
for Orogon's prep football
crown,
But statistics didn't back up
Unit handicap. Both big, fust
squads huvo toppled over nine
straight opponents, and odds
might not stuck up on a spongy,
slippery field which may well
describe tho Multnomah Stadium
turf for Suturduy's game.
Grunt Conch Jim Torson and
Drugon Mentor Walt Buettgen
buch reported their teams in top
condition. Fullback Bill Ga
briel, unablo to play against
Mediord because 'of flu, will be
flood as new this weekend, and a
cammate, Hansford Sprinkling,
will piny with his broken nose
protected In a "cage."
The Dragons smooth-working
spread formation will tax
Grant's defense to the hilt,
sports fans predicted. Hood
River will not stage a pre-gamc
workout hero, arriving the morn
ing before the game.
