Elks Offer Ambulance
The Klamath Falls Elks lodge,
which owns an ambulance, of
fered It to tho city for use as an
emergency car again last night.
E. B. Hull, trustee of the lodge,

tion of the Oregon Women's Am
bulance corps. Tho Elks, he said,
had been informed that a guruge
for an emergency ambulunce is
planned In connection with the
new city-county Jail, and per
haps tho Elks ambulance will be
used for that purpose. In tho
meuntlmo, he added, tho Elks
would bo willing to turn it over
to the city as a police ambulance.
Hall pointed out the city had
turned down such an offer once
before. "I'm Just suggesting it
this time," ho sold. 'We don't
want anothor rebuff."
It was recalled that the city
turned down the previous offer
because of lack of manpower to
operate the ambulance. Council
men last night referred the mat
tor to tho police committee.
Signal Repaired
City Knglneer Thomas told the
council that tho traffic signal
system on South Sixth and East
Main streets has undergone re
pair and should be operating
properly soon. The city has re
ceived complaints that the traffic-motivated
signal system was
not working. . .
Mayor Ostendorf said that the
dog commission wants to move
a house owned by the city in the
Veterans Memorial park area
from there to the dog pound on
Cumberland road. He said it
will cost about $1000 to move the
house, which will have to be cut
in two.
It was brought out that the
dog commission has already
spent $300 in moving another
house to tho same property, but
now finds it Inadvisable to use
this house.
Councilman Contrail suggest
ed the matter be turned over to
the street committee for con
sideration to be sure that the
dog commission has its plans ma
tured before It spends more
money.
