prices for fresh pears of the
1049 crop will bo about the

In Washington and Oregon,
where the standard western box
weighs 47 pounds, begin at $3.92
and Increase to $4.48. The new
regulation also provides for es
tablishing ceilings for pears in
standard containers on the basis
of volume rather than weight.
The ceiling for a northwest
ern bushel container or its
equivalent is derived by multi
plying tho average weight, 47
pounds, by 7.9 cents, the per
pound price.
OPA also announced that the
Oregon counties of Josephine
and Jackson, which last year
were in the California zone,
have been placed this year in
the .Washington and Oregon
zone.
