wedding anniversary on Thurs
day with luncheon at tho Wll
lard hotel in Klamath Falls. The
couple was married In Colum
bus, Ohio, on August 30, 1807
and first cnnie to Malin In 1018,
They spent some- time after
ward In California, but have
always considered Malin their
homo.
Mr. Thomas has been associat
ed with tho publishing business,
having owned and operated a
weekly newspaper at one time.
Mora recently ho has been af
filiated with the Enterprise Irrl-
fatlon district near Klamath
alls, as secretary.
Mrs. Thomas was postmistress
for several years.
With them this summer is a
granddaughter, Mrs. C. L. Meyer
of San Francisco, formerly Eve
lyn Rigor, and her four-month-old

return to Berkeley via the coast

The groom, who has served
overseas with the Tlmberwolf
division In Germany for several
months, was home on furlough.
He has now reported back to San
Luis Obispo.
The new Mrs. Mattson has
been employed at Safeway and
prior to enlisting, the groom wag
employed at the Harris Black
smith shop.
The young couple was accom

Lum Ransom of Malin. Mrs.

Anniversary
MALIN Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Wilson, pioneer residents of the
Malin community, were honored
on their 40th wedding anniver
sary, Thursday evening, August
30, at their farm home north of
Malin. They were presented
with gifts, and refreshments
were served at a late hour.
The Wilsons came to Malin 35
years ago and since then have
been identified, with the agricul
tural progress of the Klamath
basin.

The Townsend club auxiliary
met Wednesday, August 22, at
the home of Daisy Douglas near
Modoc Point. A "one o'clock pic
nic luncheon was served on the
lawn.
In honor of the birthday of
Bcrnice McCracken, a birthday
cake was served. After dinner
the gifts were opened and the
auxiliary members presented
her with a beautiful wool
blanket.
The next meeting will bo a
business meeting at the home of

MALIN Melba Holbrook,
youngest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. W. J. Holbrook of Malin,
became the bride on Tuesday,
August 28, at a 4 o'clock cere
mony, of Clarence Leonard,
USMC, stationed at Klamath
Falls.
The ring ceremony was read
in the presence of 20 relatives
and friends of the couple in the
living room of the home of the
bride's parents by the Rev. Glen
Morton, pastor of the Malin
Presbyterian church.
For her wedding the bride
wore a floor length dress of
while taiieta and carried a bou
quet of white sweet peas and
red rosebuds. Her fingertip
veil was caught about her head
in a cap effect.
Mrs. Holbrook chose to wear
a street length cream-colored
gown with a gardenia at the
shoulder.

couple cut the tiered white wed
ding cake topped by a miniature
bride and groom in uniform.

Mrs. Leonard is a graduate of
the Malin high school and has
been employed at Moe's. The
groom is a former resident of
