PORTLAND, Aug. 13 (IP) A
$7300 appropriation for a six
year survey of Umpqua river
and tributaries will Inaugurate
tho state game commission's
long-delayed postwar program.
The money will hire a field
biologist and two counters to
check salmon and trout migra
tion upstream and will set up
a fish counting station at Win
chester. , , , '
The commission said other
peacetime projects, totaling
about $500,000, would be start
ed as soon as men and materials
become available. .
