HOW PAPER AIDS THE WAR EFFORT
HOW TIN CANS AID THE WAR EFJQRT
It requires 96 tons of supplies for every fighting man across
the Pacific. Most of these supplies are paper-wrapped and some is
double and triple-wrapped. Why so much wrapping? To prevent the
mildew and rot that causes so much loss. There isn't enough paper
to supply war and civilian requirements fully. After you have read
your newspapers and magazines, after you have used your cartons,
make up in separate bundles 12 to 18 inches high, tie securely and'
have them out on your curbing before 9:00 a. m. Sunday. Those liv
ing outside of town should take their salvage to their community sal
vage depots before Sunday.

Saving Paper, Tin, Fats!
Our Armed Forces need the tin to protect much of the fo"bd
sent to our men. In addition, medicines, blood plasma outfits and other
items are made wholly or partially of tin. Prepare cans by washing
thoroughly, removing labels, turn in or cut off ends and flatten firm-'
ly. Pack them in strong containers. Take tin to your curbing or com
munity salvage depot along with the paper. Have it there by 9:00
a. m. Sunday.
