threat to Japanese communica
tions botween Kwangsi and
Hunan provinces, aro bombard
ing a village three miles north
west of Llngchwan, 15 miles
north Cwcllin, tho Chinese high
command announced.
The route Is already obstruct
ed by a roadblock which the
Chinese established 41 miles
northeast of Kweilin, former
V. S. 14th air force base city
which lies In the path of several
Chinese columns.
Meanwhile, the high command
said, other Chinese units tore up
a xtrctch of railroad five miles
northeast of Linchwan, destroyed
