WHEAT
CHICAGO, July 20 (API Wheat fu
tures rallied suddenly and rather sharp
ly today, gaining about two cents a
bushel at times on buying stimulated
by a belief that the government' has
started a buying program In southwest

Rye climbed .1 cents and mnn In
sympathy, and oats and barley also ad
vanced fractionally.
Around mld-seulon traders received a
report that the commodity credit cor
poration had requested offers on No,
1 and 2 hard winter wheat In store In
Kansas Cltv and other southwestern
markets. The rallv started Immediately,
trade authorities believing his probably
would lend to n support program or was
the beginning of a feed wheat purchase
projrrnm, due lo Ihe feed grains scarcity.
Wheat closed to I'ic higher, than
the previous finish. July 91 04'-,: corn
was unchanged to sic tip, July 91.in'i;
