D. Fletcher. The young man is
in a V-12 naval unit training at
the University of Colorado at
Boulder, majoring in aeronauti
cal engineering.
A younger brother, Fred. 18,
is serving with the U. S. navy
on a FT boat and possibly is on
the Atlantic. He studied with a
V-5 unit at a Detroit diescl en
gineering school.
John was accompanied to
Merrill by his mother, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Officld. Mrs.
Fletcher, who is a teacher at
Conger school in Klamath Falls,
Ik now taking a. summer school
course in Portland.
Cockroach Shoot Ends
With Holes In Floor
PORTLAND, July 6 (JP) A
bullet-scarred floor in the Van
port home of the W. C. Kennedy
(amily was the only trace today
of Kennedy's Fourth of July ex
periment a "cockroach shoot."
Kennedy, charged with intoxi
cation, told the judge his lone
celebration was staged while his
wife and five children were
gone on a picnic. He asserted
the day was a success the
roaches were gone.
The judge ordered Kennedy
to send his Savage 30.6 rifle
back cast to his father,
