was suffering from a cold In St.
Mary's hospital today, delaying
plans of Mayo clinic surgeons
to perform a heart operation.
The child was brought here
with her parents, Mr, and Mrs.
Walter Gudmundson, by air
plnno curly this week. Purpose
of tho planned operation is to
close valves in Judith's heart,
which did not close properly at
birth.

The Boy Scout troop mem
bers have taken a hike or two
recently to Cottonwood flat but
the weather was stormy and
their trips were spoiled some by
the rain. The troop, under the
scout-mastership of Pearl Stew
ard, has acquired several sets of
signaling flags and is working
hard to master the skill of send
ing messages. The troop also
has earned its troop charter,
which will be formally present
ed by a regional scout official
at the next regular meeting of
the East Side grange as a spe
cial feature in the program
events.
