unions, representing Pacific
Coast pulp and paper mill work
ers, and mill operators, will be
incd as a dispute case with ine
conciliation division of the U. S.
department of labor at San Fran
cisco today, John Sherman,
vice president of tho Interna-
tlon Brotherhood of Pulp, Sul-
pnite and Paper Mill Workers,
said here last night.
Sherman said the flline will
be made by the joint bargaining
committee of his union and the
sister organization, the Interna
tional Brotherhood - ot Paper
Makers.
The unions and operators met
at Portland a week ago and fail
ed to come to an agreement over
union requests for wage in
creases, holidays with pay, high
er night shift differentials and
employer-paid group insurance.
Sherman said the unions in
volved represent 17,000 workers
in mills in Washington, Oregon
and California.
