Herds of cattle -were started
back to the Klamath basin
Thursday from their winter pas
ture in California.
Range pastureland Is ready
for grazing in this area now, al
though some of the pasture is
pretty dry, ranchers state, from
too light rainfall this spring.
Among cattlemen starting
north with their herds now are
iienry uerber, W. E. Campbell,
Garner Lundy, D. O. Williams,
J. P. McAuliffo and sons. Lauren
Miller, Nicholson brothers and
William Kitlrcdge and son.
The well-fattened cattle are
sold In California in the spring,
and the others are brought back
by freight, fattened on Oregon
summer pasture and sold for
oeci in the fall.
