made the following proclamation
for V-E Day.
"TMt la tho day not for riot
lous and careless frivolities, but
rather a time ' for prayerful
thanksgiving for victory and
continuing peace, at family
altars- and at services of the
churches.
"It la a day for renewal of our
dedications to God. It should
furthermore be a time of solemn
dedication, primarily to the
task of spiritual rehabilitation
around the whole world, where
all men may live toeether in the
enjoyment of - the fruits of
peace."

munity Congregational churches
held services In celebration of
victory in. Europe, at U a. m.
today.
