ever details of a working order formula are
adopted, the ingenuity of man is to be strained
to the utmost by future events to maintain a
peaceful and a successful world from our (or
any) standpoint. The delegates know this. But
the controlling undertone of the gathering at
its outset is that there must be a formula and
the light of that widely shared ambition covers
the dark corners.

ernor Warren's tax reduction
legislation to a final vote in the
assembly was scheduled today
by Assemblyman Walter i.
Fourt, author of the bill to con
tinue the $100,000 tax cuts of
1943 another two years.
Immediately on return of the

tura assemblyman announced
he will strive for a showdown
roll call, taking advantage of
what appeared to be a split in
democratic ranks on the issue of
further delay.
The measure will appear on
the calendar with its language
revised to eliminate doubts as

corporation franchise taxes but
will still require 54 votes for

$115 Stolen From
Falls Coffee Shop
A breaking and entering case
was reported to city police late
last night when the Falls Coffee
shop at 121 X. 7th was burglar
ized of $115 in cash. Entry was
gained through the rear window
and the cash register was rifled
of $75 in cash and a cigar box
containing $40 was stolen from
under the counter.

Wounded In Italy

Mr. and Mrs. Mataru Iwamoto,
residents of the war relocation
authority's TuSelake center here,
have been notified by the war
department that their son,
George, was wounded in Italy
on April 5.
George Ivamoto left Tulelake
center in June, 1943, going first
to Ogden, Utah, and then to
Denver, from vhere he was in
ducted into the United States
army. Before evacuation the
Iwamoto family lived in Sacramento.
