held a meeting Wednesday night
to further plans for tho 194S
rodeo celebration to be held
here, July 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The committee announced
that the Gusky troop ot trick
riders has been engaged and will
entertain each of the four days
of the show, uusky has per
formed his roping and tiding;
tricks with Ringling Brothers
and the Tom Mix Wild West
show.
The Gusky troop Is composed
of himself, his wife, and two
children, a boy 14 and a girl 13.
The family is from Carthage,
Calif.
A unique double routine of
rupe spinning will be an inter
eating feature of the rodeo, and
Gusky's amazing performance
of roping two horses at the
same time while standing on his
head, will be one of the high

A California official said today
that William A. Welleslcy,
Itinerant logger, admitted know
Ing the man- whose mummified
head and hands were found in
a suitcase near Fort Bragg, Calif.
Welleslcy, arrested at Molalla,
Ore.. Monday lor Questioning,
denied, however, any knowledge
of the two-yen r-old slaying of
Austin C. Barber, said Folgcr
Emerson, assistant district at
torney of Alameda county.
"Wellosley told us he and
Barber had worked together at
an oil refinery In Oleum, Calif."
said Emerson, who came here to
question the logger. "He said
they also roomed together for
a while."
Emerson quoted Wellesley as
saying that Barber quit his job
about two years ago and left
town. "And I haven't seen him
since," the logger was quoted as
saying.
The California official said he
planned to continue questioning
Wellesley today. No charge has
been filed against him.
