turned from a visit to Dufur,
Ore., Friday, April 6. The
Smiths were, visiting with rela
tives and friends at Dufur,
their former home. They were
gone about 10 days.
Mrs. Dean Augustus and lit
tle son, Murray Dean, have re
turned home after spending sev
eral weeks at Beswick, Calif.
SSgt. and Mrs. Ray Cryder-
man are visiting here with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy L.
Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Ver
non Puckett. Sgt Cryderman
is on furlough
Rev. E. E. Hambrlck, assist
ant pastor of tho First Baptist
church of Klamath Falls,
preached the Easter sermon at
the Baptist Mission on Easter
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Large
visited at the Jtome of their
daughter, Mrs.-- Earl Soberer,
over the weekend at- E aster
time. The Larges are living at
Burnoy, Calu,, at -the present
time.
Two other' Keno men have
been home on furlough within
the past week.
Ronald Angus, who has fin
ished his training at Camp Rob
erts, has visited in Klamath
Falls with- his wife the past
week. Angus left Friday for
Salinas, Calif., and will report
at 'Fort Ord next week. Mrs.
Angus accompanied her hus
band to Salinas, where she will
visit with a sister, and expects
to remain In that part of the
state while her husband is sta
tioned at Fort Ord. Angus and
his wife visited last week with
relatives of Mrs. Angus and the
families of G. M. and Roy
Powell of Keno. Ronald Angus
was formerly employed bv Wey
erhaeuser Timber company and
lived at Weyerhaeuser Camp 4
and in Keno several years. At
tne time ot his induction into
the service his home was in
Klamath Falls.
Fred Herrick, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Herrick of the Klam
ath Falls-Keno highway, has
been home on a few days' fur
lough. He left April 7 to report
oacK to &an uicgo. nerricK has
just completed boot training
there. He attended school in
Keno during his grade school
and junior high years, and was
a student of KLTHS a part of
the present school year. Herrick
entered the navy this spring.
Point. Trail. Prospect and Camp
White. The Merrill and Bonan-za-Lorella
exchanges will be
converted to dial operation as
soon as equipment becomes
available. The Malln and Camp
White exchanges have operated
with dial equipment for some
time, the latter being one of the
largest and most modern dial
exchanges in the ninth service
command area. Operating head
quarters of the two companies
are located in Klamath Falls.
