the meet was being held as
scheduled, but in deference to
the death of President Roose
velt, events set for Saturday
afternoon would be held that

Bingham said, after a meet
ing of coaches and officials, it
would be a "physical Impossi
bility to extend the meet an
other day because of train reser
vations already made."

Anglers began riffling through
equipment today in preparation
for the annual trout season open
ing Saturday in most of Ore
gon. Although hundreds of streams
have special fishing restrictions,
the general game fishing season
will run from April 14 to Oc
tober 31, inclusive. Part of
Lake county opened to fisher
men April 1; the rest will re
main closed until May 20. The
famous Rogue river opens April
28.

for 30 days. One minute of si
lence was to be observed .at to
day's games.

cancelled but the Hollywood Le
