Klamath county grand Jury on
a charge of robbery,' not armed
with a dangerous weapon in con
nection with tho death of Karl
Bold, Henley rancher, on De
cember IS, entered a plea of In
nocence in circuit court this
morning. Stevens was repre
sented by Attorney Joseph C.
O'Neill.
A plea of Innocence was also
entered by Dennis Samuel Gath
wright, indicted on a charge of
possession of stolen properly. He
Is represented by Attorney U. S.
Balcntinc,
Attorney F. O. Small was
named by Circuit Judge David
It. Vandenbcrg to represent Sam
uel F. Ashwcll, returned hero
thin week from Lordsburg,
N. M., to face a charge of larceny
by bailee. Ashwell also 'entered
a plea of Innocence.
The court announced that all
dates of trials would be an
nounced at tho March docket call
next Monday at 10 a. m.
Alonzo Parker, charged with
grand larceny to which he en
tered a plea of guilty, was sen
tenced to three years in the Ore
gon stato penitentiary by Judge
Vandenbcrg. Parker, who ad
mitted theft of articles from the
Both Dixon ranch at Fort Klam
ath, was remanded to Sheriff
Lloyd L. Low.
Mr. and Mrs. Weavor Solomon

SOLOMONS FREED
FROM JAP PRISON
Official notice has been re
ceived that Mr. and Mrs. Weaver
Solomon and 7-ycar-old daugh
ter, Elaine, former internees of
Santo Tomas, arc safe, and the
trio is in good condition.
Solomon lived in Klamath
Falls from 1919 to 1923, and
graduated from Klamath county
high school In the latter year.
After finishing a mining engi
neering course at the University
of Nevada, ho spent several
years in Chile, and later had
charge of a gold mine near Bag
uio on Luzon island, where he
was interned.
His wife is the former Kathor
inc Ellis of Manila. Young
Elaine attracted the notice of
Gen. Douglas MacArthur when
he entered the camp, at which
time he spoke to her and gave
her a chocolate bar.

Ella Cunningham Pope, for the last
eight years a resident of Klamath Falls,
Oregon passed away In this city on
Tuesday. February 27, 1045 at 10:40
p. in., following an extended Illness.
She was a native of Ogden, Utah and
at the tfme of her death was aged OA
years 1 month and 12 days. Surviving
are her husband, George Pope of tms
city; two daughters, Mrs. Harry "Wie
chcrt of Salt Lake City, Utah and Mrs.
Thomas Smith of this city; four sons,
Walter Henry of Pocatello, Idaho. Jack
Henry of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Merlin
Henry of Ogden, Utah and Lt. Myron
Henry, U. S. army In France, also 12
grandchildren. The remains rest In the
Earl Whitlock Funeral Home. Pine at
Sixth. Notice of funeral to be an
nounced at a later date.
