The Klamath county chapter
of tho Red Cross, 418 Main, is
sending out an urgent plea for
a large attendance of workers on
Wednesday and Friday of this
week. There is a considerable
amount of gauze left to fold, but
when finished, there will be a
well-earned vacation for both
workers and Instructors.
All those Interested ore asked
to bring their friends and help
with this quota. Hours on Wed
nesday and Friday are from 12
noon to 4 p. m.
There arc still a number of
uniforms and caps which have
not boon called for. These have
been left In the workrooms from
time to time, and unless they
are called for by February 15,
they will be disposed of.

yesterday. Seven additional
notes were cashed in by noon to
duy, umuunling to $34.00.
Postal notes can be Issued in
any amount up to $10 and a pa
tron may purchase us many notes
at one time as is desired. The
fee is five cents for each note.
The notes aro not transfer
able, but may be cashed at banks
or any postofficc in tho United
States, with the exception of
Alaska, for a period of two
months after the dule of pur
chase. After that dule, unpaid
poslnl notes shall be sent by tho
remitter or payee with a request
for a refund to the third assistant
postmaster general, division of
money orders.
These noies are offered as a
public service and will be con
tinued indefinitely.

pleas of guilty to the charge of
assault and battery in Justice
J. A. Mahoncy's court Tuesday
morning after a complaint
against the three was signed by
Howard W. Giffard, Metropoli
tan hotel.
Gifford charged that Silva,
Soto and Hugo Inflicted Injuries
on him Sunday night, cutting
him about the fnco and head fol
lowing a disagreement Bt the
Sunriso tavern. City police ar
rested tho trio and turned them
over to the county Jail. The men
were ordered to pay Clifford's
hospital costs and an additional
$50 fine apiece. Six months'
sentences were suspended by the
court.

On Ice, Breaks Arm
Lt. Robert S. MacGregor. the
naval air station housing officer,
was carrying his arm in a sling
today.
The lieutenant broke the arm
when he slipped on ice.
