Home of Friend
The home of Mrs. B. F. Pernigotti, 2419 Reclamation, was the
scene of a lovelv double ring ceremony when Mabel Irene Sodcr
strom became the bride of Joseph Vincent Watcher at 1:110 on
the afternoon of December 10. The Reverend Victor E. Phillips
officiated at the wedding, which was performed before a few of
the most intimate friends of the couple.
For hor wedding the bride
chose a gold gabardine suit with
brown accessories, and a single
purple orchid was pinned to her
shoulder. The matron-of-honor
was Mrs. Pernigotti, who was
dressed in a slate blue gabar
dine suit, and wore a corsage
of gardenias and rosebuds. Sgt.
Noel White was best man for
the ceremony.
Following the wedding, a re
ception was held at the Perni
gotti home, which had been dec
orated in yellow and white
chrysanthemums ior the occa
sion. Guests included Mrs. Alice
Sodcrstrom, mother of tho bride,

annual Christmas party on De
cember 21 at the home of Mrs.
Katherine Wilson, 421 Alameda.
A musical program was iui
lowed by bridge and pinochle.

pinochle was awarded to Mar

lovely ceremony which took
place at the Christian Alliance
Uurch in Cass Lake. The wed
aing was an event of December
10, and the Reverend Howard
Batdorf officiated.
. For her wedding ensemble,
the bride chose a dusty blue
dress with light brown acces
sories, and a corsage of pale
yellow roses and purple heather
was pinned to her shoulder.
Pauline McDonald was her sis
ter's only attendant, and wore
a gold dress with black acces
sories. Her corsage was similar
to that of the bride. William
Icensee was best man for his
brother-in-law.
The wedding march was play
ed by an Indian missionary
from' Squaw Point, Minn. "I
Love You Truly" was sung by
Mrs. Ness who is also of Cass
Lake.
A wedding dinner was held
immediately following the cere
mony at the home of Mrs. Wil
liam Icensee, and the table was
centered with a military wed
ding cake.
Pvt. Powell is stationed with
the quartermaster corps a t
Camp Lee, Virginia. Mr. and
Mrs. Powell are making their
home at Petersburg, Virginia
for the present time.
Aloha OES
Aloha chapter No. 61. Order
of the Eastern Star, will meet in
regular session Tuesday eve
ning, December 26, at 8 o'clock,
in the Masonic temple, Klamath
avenue. Officers for the ensuing
chapter year will be installed at
this meeting. . "

Templar, worthy patron, extend

bers and visiting members to

Mrs. John Schubert and ucr
daughter, Nannette, entertained
at a fall tea for Mrs. Bert
Schultz and Marjorie, who left
Friday for San Jose, California.
The tea was an event of Sun
day, December 17 and guests ar
rived between the hours of two
to five. The rooms were decor
ated with holly and evergreen
and the tea table was centered
with a large red candle tied with
a wide red satin ribbon, with
small pieces of holly, evergreen
and pine cones attached to the
streamers.
Invitations were extended to
nearly 40 intimate friends of
Mrs. Schultz and her daughter.
Silvia McClcllan poured from
two to three, June Dixon from
three to four, and Patricia Ben
oist from four to five.
Marjorie is the present queen
of Jobs Daughters, and Mrs.
Schultz has been very active in
Klamath Falls during her resi
dence here. For the past year
she has been a guardian at the
Jobs Bethel, and was a member
of the high school board, as well
as vice president of the Oregon
Congress of PTA.
Mi's. Schultz and her daughter
are to join Barbara Schultz, an
older daughter, in San Jose,
where they are planning to make
their home for the duration.

Patricia Diane and William
Douglas Boyer were given a
birthday party on Monday, De
cember 18, by their mother,
Mrs. William L. Boyer. The af
fair which was given at their
home on Alameda was the cele
bration of the children's fourth
and second birthdays, respec
tively. The table and birthday cake
were decorated in the pink and
blue motif, and places were set
for Marietta O'Neal, Jerry and
Lowell Uhlig, Martin Snyder,
David and Judy Schneebeck.

VFW Party
The VFW, Pelican post 1383,
and the ladies auxiliary held
their annual open house Christ
mas party on Thursday, Decem
ber 21. Over 250 were present
for the long form initiation
which was put on by the men.
Four service men were initiated
at the beautiful and impressive
ceremony.
A buffet luncheon was served
later, which was followed by
dancing.
The rooms were decorated In
red, white and blue to carry out
the patriotic theme of this or
ganization.
Mr. and Mrs. Max McKcnzie
arrived Saturday to spend the
Christmas holidays with Mrs.
Chester Burman, mother of Mrs.
McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie is a
petty officer 3c in the Coast
Guard, and is stationed at Coos

ing held Monday evening, December 18. at the Willard hotel.
Evelyn Hudson and Pat Hudson, co-chairmen for the evening,
presented groups of Camp Fire Girls and Girl Scouts in a pro
gram of songs and music, and
introduced the two executives
of these organizations. Jewel
Cantrall, new Camp Jire ex
ecutive, and Emma Carter of
the Girl Scouts, both of whom
spoke briefly.
Joyce Lamb, Darlene Watson
and Mary Louise Gerrue of the
Fremont Brownie troop, appear
ed in a tap dance, accompanied
by Marie Wilson. Four mem
bers of the Fremont Bluebird
group, Sue Ramsby, Lynettn
Kohn, Theresa Morgan and Gail
Damon, sang a Christmas song,
followed by a Christmas Eve
recitation by Mary Jo Ogle of
Altamont Girl Scout troop 9.
The Senior Girl Scouts, re
cently reorganized, appeared on
the stage in uniforms where
they sang several numbers, ac
companied by Irma Bcaslcy on
the accordion. Betty Glytton, in
the uniform of the Mariners, a
branch of scojiting for the older
girls, told of plans for tho reor
ganization of this group in the
high school.
"White Christmas," one of
the most popular of popular
holiday songs, was sung by four
Camp Fire Girls, Nora King,
Harriett Lavcnik, Darlene Smith
and Patricia O'Leary.
The Merrill Camp Fire Girls
presented a tableau from the
Christmas story, of the shep
herds and wise men gathered
about the Christ child's manger,
with Patty O'Conner playing a
musical accompaniment on the
marimba. Beverly Kohn and
Catherine Blanas, in Camp Fire
suits, entertained with a piano
duct as the closing number of
the program.
Contrary to the custom of
holding a gift exchange, mem
bers of the cluh this year pur
chased phonograph records for
the Marine Barracks to bo pre
sented as a gift from BPW.
Gifts were presented to the pres
ident, Norma Miller, from the
executive board and from the
Minerva Book club.

Hardy. Beulah Elliott and Mabel
Humble.
