Young Blatch enlisted in the U. S. army in 1938, serv ing under army supervision fol lowing an honorable discharge in the Panama Canal zone on a defense project. He enlisted in the Seabces a year ago. J. R. Blatch is owner of a local service station. A second son is also serving in the armed forces.
