The Women of the Moose met
In a regular session at tho Moosu
hall Tuesday, November 21,
with Frances wans, senior re
gent, presiding.
The meeting was called to or
der In regular form and follow
ing the opening ceremonies, tho
college of regents chairman,
Maude Christlanson, presented
her chapter night program. Mrs.
ACKerman sang i w o soios,
"Somewhere a Volco Is Calling"
and "Wonderful You," accom
panied by Nino Nybuck.
Fannie Mae Thompson gave
an interesting history of the col
lege of regents. Ruby Bell, as
sociate dean, then exemplified
the entire imltalortal work, a
class of three candidates being
received into membership.
Refreshments were erved at
the close of the meeting.
The homemaklng committee
of the Women of the Moose met
for potluck luncheon and busi
ness meeting In the Moose hall
Friday, November 17. Maude
Sergeut, chairman of this com
mittee, was in charge, and 14
attended. A card party was held
that afternoon at 2 p. m. and
nine tables were in play. High
score went to Ann Carncll,
second to Mildred Wilkinson,
and the spec al award to Mrs.

Almo Newton, who are leaving
this month to make their home
in Brookings, have been feted
at many lovely parties by
friends and neighbors prior to
their departure.

celebration of the golden wed
ding anniversary of Mr. David

The Wawakcye Camp Fire
girls held a council fire meeting
at the home of Mrs. Matt Kohn
Jr., on Thursday afternoon, No
vember 18-
The candles standing for work,
health, and love were lit by Ar-
lene Brailler, Leona Leltnead
and Shermalee Henry.
Six certificates issued for the
completion of requirements for
woodgatherer's rank were
awarded to Marilyn Hemlngsen
Betty Hennet, Catherine Bianas
Beverly Jean Kohn, Dolores
Kedder and Sally Barnhlsel.
Each girl received honor beads
for the work completed.
Three new members, Winifred
Kentta, Shirley Glenn and Sally
Greenleaf were admitted to the
council fire, and were welcomed
by their new guardian, Mrs, J
F. Lovell.
At the close of the meeting,
the new members extinguished

to come home from a duck hunt
ing excursion with an empty
game bag, so he attached baited
fish hooks to his duck decoys

serious illness of her sister.
Mrs. Jeanle Oliver, who sus
tained injuries when she was hit
by a falling ladder at the Mai
lory market, has been confined
to her bed at the Oliver home.
She is reported to be better.
Turkey picking began at the
Sadie Newnham ranch last Wed
nesday. She sold her flock of
2600 turks to Mallory and Tur
ner here, and they are preparing
tnem for sale.
The Swan Lake Moulding com
pany delivered a load of lumber
at the Kohler home on Wednes
day.
Sympathy Is extended to the
Charles Waldrip family by this
community in their recent loss.
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kohler and
son, Gail, former resident! of
Summers lane, who moved to the
state of Washington In 1942, re
turned during the first part of
the week to Klamath Falls,
where they plan to make their
nome. They nave purcnased- a
home on Etna street.
The Walter Croft family have
moved onto the George Kohler
property here, and have gotten
settled. The Cornet property,
where the Walters formerly
lived, was sold recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gober, Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Roberts, Mr. and
Mrs. Troy Cornett and Mr. and
Mrs. King Hubble have been
busy sorting potatoes in several
different cellars during the past
few weeks.
