Friends Witness
Citation Ceremony
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Raffctto. and of their son,
First Lieutenant John A. Raffetto Jr., gathered at their home on
Portland street last Sunday afternoon. The occasion was the
presentation of the Bronze Star, for the heroic achievement per
formed, in the line of duty by Lieutenant Raffctto, who is now
a prisoner of war in Germany.
Captain O. M. Smith, com
manding officer at the Medford
army air base, read the citation
and made the award to Mr. and
Mrs. Raffetto.
Following the presentation
ceremony, refreshments were
served from a lace-covered table
centered with fall flowers of
bronze and yellow.
A letter to Lieutenant Raf
fetto, to be sent to POW camp
at Oflag 64, was composed by
the' euests. each person present
signing his name and writing a
brief note.

marriage of their daughter, Lila,
to Mr. James Butler of Macdoel.
Calif. The couple were married
in Reno, Nevada on November 5.
-Mrs.. Butler graduated from
Henley high school with the
class of 1944. -
Mr. and Mrs. Butler are at
home on a ranch near Macdoel.

In a simple wedding on
Thanksgiving Day at 1 o'clock
in the afternoon, Mrs. LaVerne
Johansen became the bride of
Sgt. Major Bernard Dumas of
the Marine Barracks. The cere
mony was read by the Rev. Vic
tor. Phillips in the First Metho
dist church which was decorated
with white" chrysanthemums
ana palms.
The bride, given in marriage
by her brother, L. L. Dunn, wore
a moonstone Blue frock with
nail head trim and a small black
lace hat with matching access
ories. She carried a bouquet of
red roses.
Mrs- Thomas McClure was her
attendant and' wore a light blue
wool frock with a corsage of
gardenias. Tech. Sgt. Thomas
McClure was the best man.
Just before the ceremony, PFC
Carl Hagel of the Marine Bar
racks sang, "I Love You Truly."
Soft music was played by the
organist. .
Later twenty-five guests gath
ered at the Winema for Thanks
giving dinner and a beautiful
wedding cake was cut by the
new Mrs. Dumas. The three

Following a brief wedding trip

Mary Joy, born November 20
in Seattle. Lt. Muczynski, who
was recently detached fromi the
Klamath naval air station, is
now in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mrs. William Clark arrived in
Klamath Falls on Saturday, No
vember 18, to join her husband
here. They have purchased a
home at 320 Michigan. Mr. and
Mrs. Clark, who formerly lived
in San Francisco, were recent
ly married at Vallejo, California.-
She is the former Lillian
