Hellcats Win
Intramural
Tournament
-The Intramural basketball bee
played on tho local high school
cage court came to a conclusion
Wednesday afternoon with the
Hellcats, captained by Dean
Mason, tramping the Modocs to
the tune of 31-19 to gain the
intra-school crown.
Both quintets boasted a per
fect record going into the title
fray, but the Hellcats, paced by
Jim Noreen with 13 markers,
captured the toga tilt easily.
The Hellcat five jumped off to
an early lead and was never in
serious danger of being headed
during the entire game. Bob
Perkins, guard and captain of
the Modocs, played a good ball
game for the losers, but picked
up four fouls and was forced
to take it easy throughout the
latter stages of the contest.
In the only other fracas played
the Wildcats nipped the Jay
Vees, 16-14, on Bob Redkey's last
second field goal, while the
Spartans won 2-0 over the Peli
cans on a forfeit decided by the
flip of a coin.
Some boys that looked ex
ceptionally good during the
tournament were: White, Mason,
Perkins, Noreen, Palmer, Zaro
sinskl, Noel, Zupan, Pope and
Rcdkey. Coach Marble Cook
will now assemble the Pelican
squad from tho 43 or more boys
that participated In these con
tests and tho real work pre

basketball season will get under
way in earnest.
