Sealed bids in duplicate on forms pro
vided therefor, marked outside "Bid
Skellock Draw Compartment Timber
Unit." and addressed to the "Superin
tendent, Klamath Agency. Oregon." will
be received until 2 o'clock p. m. Pacific
War Time. November 27. 1944 for the
purchase of merchantable timber on a
tract within the Klamath Indian Res
ervation. Oregon described as the Skel
lock Draw Compartment Timber Unit
The Unit includes aboul 3500 timbered
acres with an estimated cut of 20.000.000
feet B M. of Ponderosa Pine and sugar
pines of which about 1.670.000 feet B.M.
of ponderosa pine stands on about 320
acres of alloted lands, for which separate
approved contracts must afterward be
made with allottees desiring to sell, and
on terms similar to the contract for the
unallotted timber. Each bid must state
the price per thousand feet B.M. Scribner
Decimal C Log Scale, that will be paid
for timber cut and scaled prior to any
readjustment of rates as specified in
the contract. No bid will be considered
for less than $7.00 per thousand feet
B.M. for ponderosa and sugar pines.
S3.00 per thousand feet B.M. for Douglas
fir and incense cedar, and SI. 50 per
thousand feet B. M.. for other species.
Under the regulation of the Office of
Price Administration entitled "Maximum
Price Regulation 460 Western Timber."
maximum prices have been imposed ef
fective August 31. 1943 which limit ad
ditions to the minimum acceptable bid
prices. These arc on file in the office
of the Superintendent. Klamath Agency,
Oregon and are available to aU Interest
ed in this unit. Each bid must be ac
companied by a certified check in the
amount of $5,000 on a solvent Bank,
cay able to the Special Disbursing Agent.
Klamath Agency, Oregon. The deposit
will be returned to unsuccessful bidders.
The deposit of the successful bidder
wiU be applied as part of the purchase
price against timber actually cut on this
unit only, or retained as liquidated
damages if the bidder shall not execute
contract and furnish satisfactory bond
for $15,000 within 60 days from accept
ance of this bid. The right to waive
technical defects and reject any or all
bids is reserved. This sale is made In
furtherance of the War Program to as
sist in maintaining lumber production
during the winter months of 1944-1945.
If two or more bids, at or above the
maximum prices prescribed by MPR No.
460. are received they will all be con
sidered as if made at the maximum
