Legion Auxiliary
Holds Meet Here
The district conference of district 4 of the American Legion
uxillary was held here in Klamath Falls on Friday, November
17, at the Memorial hall. Klamath, Merrill, Malm and Ashland
units were represented.
Mrs. Charles E. Lemons, denartment president, of Pendleton

peakers for the meeting, bring
ing to the units the program for
the coming year.
Mrs. Lenore Gallagher, presi
dent of the Klamath unit, was in
charge of arrangements for the
meeting. Mrs. Paul Otterbein,
Mrs. Fred LaForge. Mrs. Keith
Ambrose. Mrs. Syd Evans, Mrs.
James Hunter. Mrs. Carl SchU'
bert, Mrs. Robert Ross, Mrs. A.
Petersteiner and Mrs. George
Rogers were the committee in
charge of the luncheon.
Out-of-town guests, accompan
ied by Mrs. Gallagher, spent the
morning in a tour of the Marine
Barracks, Friday, and a lunch
eon in their honor was given
preceding the afternoon confer
ence. Over 60 members and
Euests attended and the lunch
eon table was decorated with
candles, a holiday arrangement
of vegetables and truits, tianxea
by sprays of ivy and bright au
tumn berries. Highlight of the
meeting was the presentation of
a box of potatoes to each guest
present.

Formal Banquet
Kappa chapter of Beta Sigma
Phi enjoyed a formal banquet in
the Blue room of the Willard
hotel, Wednesday evening, No
vember 8. Fall flowers were
used in the centerpiece and
place cards were turkeys made
of small pine cones.
This was followed by the rit
uals of the sorority given by
Mary Beth Hammond, president,
with talisman roses and candles
used as the decoration. Receiv
ing the pledge ritual were Mrs.
Lloyd Drew and Jacquie McLel
lan, Helen Grumble, Lois Coady
and Elsie Kurnick received the
Ritual of Jewels. Mrs. Arthur
Moore, Mrs. Joe Lemen and Lois
Coady were in charge of arrange
ments. Those present were Mrs. John
Hawkins, Mrs. Lloyd Drew, Mrs.
Van Thome, Mrs. Dan Divens,
Mrs. Norman Moty, Mrs. Ed
Charon, Mrs. Lawrence Albrit-

ican Legion auxiliary, was here
from Pendleton for the district
conference of the auxiliary, held
in Klamath Falls on Friday. No
vember 17. She was an honored
guest at a luncheon Friday noon
in the American Legion hall.
Birthday Observed
Sally Glyn Jones celebrated
her fifth birthday anniversary
on November 10 at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen

The afternoon was soent
playing games, and favors were
distributed among the euests.
A beautifully decorated cake
centered the refreshment table,
and was later served to Mrs.

With Dinner Dance
The Sojourners entertained their husbands and guests at a
gay apron-overall dinner dance at Lakcihorc inn last Friday
evening, November 10. A large cake decorated in red, white, and
blue centered the dinner table.
