POLICE ARREST 31
IN TRAFFIC CHECK
State police conducted a traf
fic check at two different points
over tho weekend, maklnR 31 ar
rests out of 044 cars stopped.
The checks were held at tho In
tcrscction of highways 08 and
07 near the Lenox addition and
tho intersection of hiRhway 87
and tho Pelican City road.
Accompanying state police
was a collector from the Internal
revenue office who mado 25 ci
tations for cars havinR no federal
tax stamps. This carries a $5
penalty in addition to the cost ot
a stamp.
In the traffic check there were
three arrests for no warning de
vice; void foreign licenses. 2;
improper license, 1; overloading,
4: no operator's license, 15; no
PUC permit, 2; no muffler, 1;
no license, 1; and failure to stop
at a stop sign, 2.
