evening, July 24. The two new
members are Dorothy Clnrk and
Nadine Schmoe. A regular busi
ness meeting was also held.

ington, were married at the Church of the Assumption in Musko
gee, Oklahoma, on Friday evening, July 7, Both young people
are former residents of Klamath, Fills.
The ceremony wai read at 8 o'clock by the Reverend Paul V.
Brown.

' The traditional wedding
marches and Shubert's "Ave
Maria" were played by Organ
ist Betty Dlckmann during the
ceremony.
Following the wedding, a re
ception was held in the cast
lounge of the USO. The table
was attractively decorated with
bouquets' of white petunias,
white tapers, and a beautiful
wedding cake which was cut
by the bride and groom and
served by Mary Bauer, hostess.
Later 'a party was held at the
Sunset club for the wedding
party and their guests.
Mrs. Hamstreet Is a graduate
of Grants Pass high school and
the Interstate Business college
in Klamath Falls. While in
Klamath Falls she was employ
ed by the dramatics department
of Klamath Union high school
and by the Fountain Supply
company. For the past two
years she has made her home
in San Francisco.
Corporal Hamstreet is a grad
uate of Klamath Union high
school and he also attended the
Interstate Business college. He
was employed by the dramatics
department at tne nigh scnool
until he accepted a position
with the Southern Pacific rail
road In Dunsmuir, California.
He enlisted in the army air
forces in November, 1942, and
is now stationed with a photo
reconnaissance squadron at
Muskogeo, Oklahoma.

Birthday Party
TULELAKE The navy, army
and marines shared honors at a
birthday party for service men
with birthdays in July, which
was given the evening of July
27 in the servicemen's room by
the Tulclake Cadettes. Twelve
young men, including Captain
Erwib, provost marshal at Camp
Tulclake, were remembered with
gifts by the girls and shared the
big birthday cake topped with
pink candles. Refreshments were
served to 125 service men and
as many young women during
the course of the evening.
Three Tulelake boys, home
from duty, were also among the
guests, including Second Lieu
tenant Sherman Waldrip. son of
Mr. and Mrs. Uharies Waldrip,

Weds Navy Man
At an Informal wedding on the evening of July 15, Miss Julia
Denault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Denault of Oregon ave
nue, became the bride of William Waldcr, seaman first class of
the U. S. nnvy, son of Mrs. Susan Walder of Akron, Ohio.
Tho 8 o'clock ceremony was solemnized by Father Tighe at
the Sacred Heart church and was attended only by members of
the fnmily. '. .'
Tho bride chose a light blue dressmaker suit with blue acces
sories for the occasion, and with it wore a shoulder corsage of

Mrs, Jay Hazzard was hon
ored on Friday with a luncheon
given for her by Mrs. Elbert
stiles at the Wlllard hotel. Mrs,
Hazzard is Mrs. Stiles' sister
and will be remembered as Del.

ter, Rosalie, have been at the
Stiles home on Mesa, Mr. Haz
zard having returned to their
home in Glendale two weeks
ago. He was formerly employed

On Leave
Some of Klamath's women
who have entered the armed
forces are home this week on
leave from various training cen
ters and bases throughout the
country. For many, this is the
first tune home since they have
been in the service.

Weds Recently
Mary Jane Manning, attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J.
Manning of Henley, was married in a ceremony read in the Pres
byterian church on Sunday, July 16, to Luther Freeman, son of
Mrs. Dorothy Vestel of Terrebonne, Oregon.
The Rev. David F. Barnett Jr. performed the 9 o'clock cere
mony on Sunday evening before a few friends and relatives of
the couple. ,
Traditional white was chosen by the bride who, also wore a
fingertip veil caught at the head' With a tiara of see3 pearls. She
carried: a lovely bouquet of red ;
roses and white gardenias. She
was given in marriage by her
father. ;
Maid of honor was Dorothea
Bepkwith and bridesmaid was
the bride's sister, Geraldine
Manning. Dorothea -wore a pale
rose floor length gown and Ger
aldine chose a light pink dress.
Both wore shoulder corsages of
pastel summer, flowers.
Best man was James Craw
ford and usher for the occasion

for several months, and has
recently accepted a position
with Mason Ehrman company.
Seaman Walder who is an
aviation mctalsmlth, has been
located at tho Klamath naval
air station since January, and
prior to that was in training at
Pensacola, Fla., . and Norman,
Okla. He is an outstanding
member of the air station, base
ball team .

new Mrs. Freeman wore a blue
suit with white accessories and
a gardenia corsage.
Later the bride returned io
Seattle, where, she has been em
ployed for some time and Priv
ate Freeman returned to his
base with the army air corps at
Hobbs, New Mexico.
