Every May Klamath Falls observes Stop Forest Fires Week,1
originated by your own local American Legion post. Hard work
ing committees put on a bang-up program. There is plenty of
public support and enthusiasm. The event is recognized as one
of the outstanding forest fire prevention efforts in the state.
All this is as it should be. Klamath Falls depends upon her for
est industries, and forest fires are the great enemy of our future
welfare. But it is not enough just to put on the big program, and
then figure that our job is done until next year. "Stop Forest
Fires" should be uppermost in the minds of every citizen
throughout the forest fire season,-or at any other time when
forest fires will burn. .
Forest fire prevention is not something that can be accom
plished by any one man, or any one organization. It's "the
everlastin' teamwork, of every bloomin' soul" that counts. From
now until the fall rains forest fire prevention is "my business,
your business, everybody's; business."
The fine record of last year can be made even better this year,
if each one does his part. How about it? AIT together,, now,--
