Refund Overcharges
During June, landlords in the
Portland OPA district refunded
to tenants rent overcharges
totaling $4:9.75, James A. Little,
rent enforcement attorney, an

local landlords made a contribu

overcharges totaling $5(17.50 be
cause tenants could no longer

shooting down his 28th plane

This latest victory for the
Thunderbolt pilot came after he
drew a blank yesterday when his
flight failed to sight a German
plane.
Two other American fighter
pilots, Maj. Robert S. Johnson
of Lawton, Okla., and Maj. Rich
ard I. Bong of Poplar, Wis., have
shot down 27 enemy planes
apiece. Gabrcski's 2flth piano

He previously had made up
his mind to shoot down 28 Ger
man planes before accepting a

OPA staff since July 1, 1942, has
resigned to return to his home
in Salem, McDannell Brown, dis
trict OPA director, announced to
day. During his two years with the
OPA, Chambers headed the gen
eral products section and was re
sponsible for keeping the trade
informed of regulations relating
to apparel, drygoods, furniture
and other consumer durable
goods.

designated to act as head of the
general products section, Brown
