Maritime Award
WASHINGTON. June 16 (IP)
The Kaiser company's Swan Is
land shipyard at Portland. Ore,
has won the maritime commis
sion's production award, the
"Tanker Champ" flag, for the
second time, it was announced
today.
The Swan Island yard was
the country's top tanker pro
ducing yard in May, winning
the right to fly the award flag
during June. The award also
went to the yard in October,
1943.
