EMBLEM DAY EVENTS
Klamath Aerie. Fraternal Or
dcr of Kuglcs, will hold patriotic
Emblem Day exercises, Friday
evening, Juno 16, in its lodge
rooms at 0th and Walnut. This
is part of tho fraternity's nation-
wldo observance of the day, the
first to be held in tho history of
tins country.
Emblem Day commemorates
the adoption of tho American
bold eagle as tho emblem of this
nation, an event which took
placo on Juno 20, 1782. Com.
mcmorallon ot this event was
neglected until 1042 when Wis
consin Eagles adopted a resolu
tion setting June 20 as Emblem
Day and dedicated the day to the
spirit of the eagle, monarch of
tho skies. Early this year tho nn.
tlonal governing body of the
order put Emblem Day on the
Eagle calendar.
A program has been arranged
for Friday evening by President
Homer Truax, and all visiting
Eagles arc especially invited to
attend inauguration or the cele
bration of Emblem Day.
