tomorrow. Indiana's 20 w bo
picked June 1-2 and Nevada's six
June 10.
Five more delegates also must
be chosen, one in Tennessee Juno
1 to compluto that stutc's repre
sentation ot 1U, and two each
to renrcsont Puerto Rico and
the Philippines. !

name "for any position" at the
national convention and not to
cast their votes for him.
Dewey supporters had been
looking longingly at those 50
after a complimentary vote for
Warren but Candidate John W.
Brlcker, governor of Ohio, said
yesterday that he has "many
personal friends and supporters"
in tho California delegation.

BACONI What a joy to have plenty of
it available! And you know, bacon has
many fine uses for lunch and dinner, in
addition to time-honored "bacon for
breakfast." Here are some suggestions
which I hope you'll try:
BACON AND VEGETABLE PLATE
1 lb. bacon cup bacon
6 tomato halves ' drippings
1 h.ad cauliflower 1 tbap. vinegar
Green beane 4 tap. paprika
Salt and pepper - '
Broil bacon until evenly crisped. At the
same time place tomatoes in the broil
ing oven, dot with butter or margarine, .
and heat. Cook cauliflower and green
beans separately in boiling salted
water. Make Savory Dressing: Melt
bacon drippings, add vinegar and
paprika. To serve, arrange cauliflower
in center of platter and top with Savory
Dressing. Alternate green, bean bundles
and tomato halves around cauliflower.
Border with slices of bacon.
BACON CORNMEAL MUFFINS
V2 cups enriched
flour, lifted
cup yellow
cornmeal
1 tbap. bakin ,
powder"
tap. salt
2 tbaps. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup milk
't cup melted '
bacon fat
9 slices cooked '
bacon chopped
Sift and mix all dry ingredients to
gether. Combine beaten, eggs, milk and
melted bacon fat, add to dry ingre
dients with chopped cooked bacon,
stirring only enough to dampen flour..
Fill greased muffin pans two-thirds full
and bake in moderately hot oven (425
F.) about 20 minutes. Makes 8 muffins.
LIMA BEAN BACON CASSEROLE
2 cups lima beans
(dry)
Salt and pepper
1 cup tomatoes
z large onion -6
slices bacon
Soak lima beans, then simmer until
tender. Season with salt, pepper, add
tomatoes and finely chopped onion and
place in a 2 qt. casserole. Add strips of
bacon over the top and bake in mod
erate oven (350 F.) for 30 minutes.
Serves 5 to 6. .
