VISITS KLAMATH
Major Jennings D. Lowmen,
who was stationed here aa a ser
geant In the army recruiting
service from 1027 to 1034, is
atopping off in Klamath Falls for
several days on his way from
Washington, where he has been
stationed for some time, to San
Francisco. r j
Major Lowmen served as an
enlisted man for 25 years, and
saw service In France and Ger
many in the laat war. Following
that, before assignment to re
cruiting service, he was stationed
in the Canal Zone and In the
Philippines. At the beginning
of the present war, he was com
mlaaioned a captain from the
rank of sergeant.
He has bougha a home In Hot
Springs, and in addition still
owns the houae he lived In when
he was on recruiting duty here.
He and Mrs. Lowmen and their
daughter plan to make their
home here when the war ends.

ORIE SMITH
The funeral service for the
late Orie Smith, who passed
away in this city on Sunday
afternoon, Auguat 22, will take
place from the chapel of Ward's
Klamath Funeral home, 025
High street, on Wednesday, Aug
ust 25, at 2 p. m. The Rev. A.
Theodore Smith, D. D., of the
First Presbyterian church will
officiate. Commitment services
and Interment will follow In
Llnkvllle cemetery. Friends are
invited to attend.
